 Energy Performance Certificates

My name is Tanya Wightman. I am a Qualified Accredited Independent Residential Energy Performance Certificate provider, based in Warrington, Cheshire.

As you are aware as a result of new government legislation, from the 1st October 2008, it will be mandatory for all landlords to make an Energy Performance Certificate available to prospective residential tenants, as part of the lettings process. Once prepared, an Energy Performance Certificate is valid for ten years.

Though there are many months still to go, it is really essential that residential landlords plan ahead, particularly those with large portfolios. There are limited numbers of Energy Assessors and  residential landlords who have properties to market in October should ensure that they are not risking an extended void period through lack of a valid Energy Performance Certificate.
